The Dependable Painting Company cleaned decades of black carbon soot off the Stambaugh Auditorium’s ceiling. The plaster walls and ceilings were then carefully repaired before being primed and finish painted. The coined ceiling elements were accented, using 24 karat gold, faux painted, glazed, and striped. Hand stencil decorations were applied to the perimeter of the uppermost ceiling. A multicolor sponge finish (recreated to match the original design) was used on the main walls. The natural woodwork found at the stage, proscenium, and balcony faces were reconditioned and refinished.
